My digital group show of 8 videos are of music videos by an artist called Shallou. They are an electronic artist that has a very specific tone and mood that they carry over in their music. The overall theme for these videos is the events of a relationship, the feelings, and ups and downs you face during that relationship. It starts with the song Begin. The song is 3:13 and it shows the beginning of life and that relationship. Then it leads to going on an adventure with the song “You and Me” (3:55) and finding that person. Quickly after “You and Me”, ” …. Love” is the third song. That leads to falling in love with that person; that video is 3:45. Then you “Count on” (3:28) finding a way to count on and rely on the you and me person. Then the “Truth” (3:49) comes out with that person who you thought you were going to be with but the relationship ends up all being a lie. Leading to finding out the ”Lie” (3:36); that lie is a replaying in your head of the events and feels from the relationship. Now you are …… “Lost” (2:50). Time brings heeling as you get “Older” (3:40) and having learned from your mistakes. These videos are very appealing; they make you feel the theme presented. The name of each of the songs in the music video tell a story, along with having visually beautiful scenery to look at. It shows a texture of life in different light, sounds and tones of color and object that are shown in each scene.
